Founded in 2020 by industry veterans Nick Martire and Willa Leus-Martire, Norda was born out of a desire to create a trail shoe that meets the highest standards of durability, performance, and sustainability. 

Norda Origins Rooted in Passion

The inception of Norda is a testament to the founders' dedication to the sport and their environment. Dissatisfied with existing options, they embarked on a mission to engineer a shoe that could withstand Canada's harshest conditions—from the scorching heat of Death Valley to the frigid expanses of the Arctic. This relentless pursuit led to the creation of the Norda 001, a shoe that seamlessly blends cutting-edge technology with minimalist design. ​

At the heart of Norda's innovation is the use of bio-based Dyneema®, a fibre renowned for its unparalleled strength-to-weight ratio. Originally developed for applications like bulletproof vests and high-performance sailing gear, Dyneema® offers exceptional durability without compromising on weight. This material choice ensures that Norda shoes are not only robust but also incredibly lightweight, enhancing the runner's experience on technical terrains. 

Complementing the Dyneema® upper is the collaboration with Vibram® on the outsole. The integration of Vibram® Megagrip and Litebase technologies provides superior traction and stability, essential for navigating unpredictable trail surfaces.
